Coaching AI grades run from 0 to 100 and fall into five tiers:

• At Risk (0-60)
• Below Average (60-70)
• Average (70-80)
• Above Average (80-90)
• All-Time (90-100)

Each grade is generated by the Black Box methodology using Sports Intelligence variables. The grade evaluates every aspect of a coach's game-day performance, from play-calling and situational decision-making to personnel deployment and in-game adjustments. Each grade is produced entirely from Sports Intelligence inputs, with zero reliance on media narratives or subjective analyst opinion.

The Overall Group Grade is a composite evaluation of all 12 senior-level coaching roles on an NFL team's roster: Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coordinator, and eight position coaches (QB, RB, WR, OL, TE, DL, LB, DB). Each individual grade is weighted and combined to produce a single team coaching performance score that captures the complete staff's effectiveness.

The Head-to-Head Matchup compares two teams across nine coaching units: eight position coaches plus the Special Teams Coordinator, paired with unit-specific football statistics. Every comparison is grounded in on-field performance data, QB rating above expectation, pass rush win rate, tackle efficiency, and more. No opinions, no narrative bias, and no media influence enter the evaluation. This framework eliminates non-football analyst subjectivity entirely.

Traditional football analysis relies heavily on subjective narratives, surface-level statistics, and analyst opinion. The Black Box methodology is a proprietary trade secret that processes Sports Intelligence variables per game, covering situational decisions, play design effectiveness, personnel grouping intelligence, and in-game adaptation. No opinion-based inputs are used. The result is the most objective, data-driven coaching evaluation framework ever built for sports.

Coaching AI grades are updated weekly during the NFL season. After each game, our Black Box methodology processes the full set of Sports Intelligence variables for every coach involved and produces updated individual and group grades. Grades are typically published within 48 hours of each game's conclusion.
